A heartbreaking incident has shaken the western coast of the Canary Island of Tenerife. Off the coast near Los Gigantes, a stunning wave tragically swept four individuals into the ocean, leading to their untimely deaths. Additionally, one individual remains unaccounted for.

The unfortunate events unfolded shortly after 4 PM at one of the well-known natural pools in Los Gigantes, located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide. At that moment, many visitors were enjoying the area both on the rocks and in the water when a massive wave crashed towards them, dragging them into the depths.

Reports indicate that multiple people were caught in the powerful surge. Among those affected were reportedly foreign tourists, according to the local newspaper Diario de Avisos. A search and rescue helicopter managed to retrieve one survivor from the water, while tragically, the body of another individual was recovered.

Initially, officials confirmed the identities of two males and one female victim, aged 35 and 55, respectively. A fourth woman was later found, receiving immediate medical attention. Despite efforts to revive her, she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
