A tragic incident has unfolded on the rugged west coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Near Los Gigantes, a powerful wave swept four individuals into the ocean, leading to their untimely deaths, with another person still missing.

The calamity struck shortly after 4 PM by the popular natural pools in the Santiago del Teide region, where numerous visitors were enjoying the scenery both on the rocks and in the water. Without warning, a colossal wave surged forth, pulling many into the depths.

According to emergency services, multiple occupants were swept away by the force of the water. Initial reports indicate that some of those affected may have been foreign tourists. Search and rescue operations were conducted, with one person retrieved alive while another was found deceased.

Confirmed Casualties

Official updates have revealed that among the deceased are two men and one woman, aged 35 and 55 respectively. Sadly, a fourth woman, who was resuscitated and airlifted to the hospital, later succumbed to her injuries. As of now, it remains unclear if there were any German nationals among the victims.
